Eight games to kill (Real) Nazis

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle just came out and we have a lot to celebrate with that video game. Specifically, it brings back Indiana Jones to both his roots in killing Nazis as well as a time when it's not embarrassing for him to be an action hero. However, this game may not completely satisfy your desire to slaughter fascists. As such, here is a short list from the good people here at Epic Indie of games where you get to kill members of the Third Reich (or their offshoots).

8. Marvel's Midnight Suns (Playstation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 4, Xbox One)

Marvel comics has a long history of Nazi bashing dating back to when its predecessor company had Captain America punch Hitler in the face before America entered the war. Midnight Suns has that detestable group of surviving Reichsman, Hydra, bring back the demon goddess Lilith to, you guessed, take over the world. You'll fight hordes of Hydra soldiers throughout this work, and it seems like even Spider-Man is not worried about their mortality since they all disintegrate upon death. You also get to do it with a collection of your favorite childhood heroes.

7. Call of Duty: WW2 (Playstation 4, Windows, Xbox One)

Call of Duty is now more famous for its Modern Warfare franchise of killing Russians and terrorists than Nazis, but they cut their teeth on exterminating Nazis. While their handling of historical accuracy isn't exactly 100%, the stories of the war aren't that far removed from the Greatest Generation. At least if you ignore the fact your character can exterminate several hundred platoons’ worth of Hitler's worst. This one can take you all the way from the Battle of the Bulge into Germany's heart.

6. Captain America: Super Soldier (Playstation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3D2, Nintendo DS)

Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the best games of all time and what could make Batman better? Well, if you like Captain America more, then Batman: Arkham Asylum with him in a Nazi castle. Steve Rogers is dumped during WW2 in the original Baron Zemo's castle, and you have to dismantle the entire Nazi super science division in order to prevent Hitler from winning like Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Except Steve will punch, kick, and throw shields in the face of every fascist to do it. You even get to face individuals like Viper and Baron Strucker.

5. Bloodrayne (Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, Windows, Mac OS X, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/s)

There are some people who would claim that Nazis, by virtue of being human beings, will always be better to side with against a direct supernatural evil like vampires. These people are idiots. No, Rayne the Dhampyr knows exactly what to do with fascists. The first game is still a fun time for watching our sexy redheaded hunter of her own kind go after the endless hordes of the SS using supernatural forces to win the Second World War. You are what you eat but Rayne is the exception that proves the rule.

4. Sniper Elite 5 (Windows, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S)

A man and his rifle versus an entire army of Nazis spread throughout France. The Sniper Elite games are favorites of mine, not just because a good chunk of them give you the DLC option to kill Hitler. There is a lot of Nazi killing in this game and a fairly decent plot for your character as he sneaks around trying to make sure D-Day isn't completely flubbed up.

3. The Saboteur (Windows, Playstation 3, Xbox 360)

The Saboteur is loosely based on a real-life half-French/half-Irish French Resistance member but then goes into its own crazy alternate world. Sean Devlin is a grouchy Irishman who, after a bad encounter with a Nazi officer (is there a good kind?), decides to personally murder every single Nazi in Occupied France. There are some issues with this game, like the complete absence of Vichy France, but a massive amount of stealth murder to be done against Nazis well as blowing their equipment up. You also can work out of a strip club and brothel that is far classier than most.

2. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Windows, Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5)

I mentioned it in the opening for a reason. Indiana Jones may not be the OG Nazi fighter, but he was the most famous one when I was growing up. A first-person adventure with whip slinging, stealth, Nazi punching, and more. There are many fantastic levels here including the Vatican. However, the chief appeal here is the chance to thwart Hitler's Ghostoppo occult seekers one more time.

1. Wolfenstein: The New Order (Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Wolfenstein is the original Nazi killing game and has been updated several times. The New Order is the biggest and baddest of these with an alternate Man in the High Castle-esque setting where the Nazis win WW2 with stolen Jewish supertechnology. Mild unfortunate implications aside, we see just what an absolute horror show of incompetent evil malice such a thing would be. Better still, BJ and his team can proceed to annihilate the Nazi regime in retaliation.
