EPIC Indie 2024: A Year in (Sorta) Review

Well, folks, we made it! Another year of juggling life, work, and, of course, our never-ending love for indie fantasy and sci-fi books. It's been a wild ride, full of page-turners, plot twists, and a fair share of "Wait, we’re supposed to write a review for this week?" moments. I’d like to give a massive shoutout to the team for doing so much and putting up with my regular calls for content!

The Numbers Game

In 2024, we reviewed over 70 indie books. Yep, 70! It might not sound like a ton, but considering the actual epic quests we faced—jobs, families, existential crises, —we’re calling it a win. From dragons to dystopias, our bookish adventures were as thrilling as ever.

The Challenges (aka Life Happens)

Let’s be honest—keeping this ship afloat wasn’t always easy. Between 9-to-5s, crying kids, and Netflix calling our name, finding time to read, review, and stay caffeinated was no small feat. But somehow, we did it! Even if it meant reading a chapter at midnight or sneakily drafting reviews during boring Zoom meetings (don’t tell our bosses). Keeping this site going has sure been a challenge and we thank each of you who reads our reviews and prattlings.

We Want YOU (Yes, You!)

Here’s the deal: we’re looking for a few brave souls to join the EPIC Indie crew in 2025.
